Torcal de Antequera Natural Park
It is a unique countryside with one of the most amazing karstic landscape within the entire Europe. Karstic nature gives the landscapes a peculiar aspect characterized by the existence of a group of alleys and passages, bridges and depressions that give them a special beauty causing a petrified city.
When we are deep in the path and moved by the show, comfortably we will do an interpretation of this place, its landscape, geology the protected space itself.
In order we go on, we know deeper flora particularities and its medicinal properties.
Within the fauna, the mountain goat is enhanced against crags, and birds such as redstart, sparrow, wheatear, goldfinch and coal tit.
When finishing the route, we will make most of the time to recover ourselves and have lunch next to the visitants’ center and the viewpoint, before going to the next route of the day:
FUENTE PIEDRA NATURAL RESERVE
Fuente de Piedra Lake is one of the places where is compulsory stop. We will last to arrive there a little bit more than half an hour going from the latest point. Its importance takes place being a privileged environment for the pink flamingo; therefore, it is a hibernation area and a place for many other birds.
From the observatories from the visitants’ point to around it, we will observe the aquatic birds using telescopes and binoculars: Greater Flamingo, Purple Gallinule, Malmsey, Black-winged Stilt, Avocet, Little Grebe, Shoveler, Pochard, etc.
The number of the pairs of flamingos comes till 20 thousand taking into account other thousands aquatic birds that come back to the lake. More of eigth hundred of crane, and other bird species spend the winter here.
Around the lake, we will see steppe species such as Montagu´s Harrier, Lesser Krestel, Little Bustard, Stone Curlew, etc.
